What is a Rainbow Baby?
A rainbow baby is a baby you have birthed after one or more miscarriages. Rainbows can have different meaning to different people. For many, the rainbow is a symbol of hope and the promise of life.
Miscarriages happen to many women, and it is important to remember that you are not alone. Nor is it your fault. Miscarriages happen without a reason, and it's nobody's fault. My first rainbow baby became my sunshine baby when I had my second miscarriage.
A sunshine baby is the child you have who gets you through your miscarriage.
Where did the term "rainbow baby" come from?
The Navajo culture valued the rainbow as a symbol of protection and pathway of the Yeis. A rainbow yei encircles most traditional sand paintings to protect the image from evil spirits.
In Ancient Chinese culture, a rainbow was often seen as a symbol of Yin and Yang, (harmony and balance) emodying the merging of male and female energies.
In Aboriginal Australian culture, a rainbow is often seen as a representation of the "rainbow serpent", an ancestral being traveling between waterholes, bringing rain and symbolizing life, fertility and the connection between land and water.
Whatever the rainbow means to you we hope you will join us in celebrating every life! Because every life deserves our hope, our happiness and (if it comes to it) our tears.
We have a rainbow baby swaddle dedicated to your rainbow baby. Check out the sleep sack here.

I would love to have one of those rainbow swaddles for my rainbow baby, so it would be great if I could get one.
