$0 Mother's Day Gift ideas

$0 Mother's Day Gift ideas

1. A break. This does NOT mean a trip to the grocery store sans kids!  This means an opportunity for active rest. Does she want an afternoon with her girlfriends? Does she want a few hours at the rock climbing gym? Does she want to go for a walk without worrying about when she has to be back home? Does she want to be at home by herself for a few hours? All this costs is initiative and intention.

2. Proof she is a great Mother. If you have not been taking photos of her with her baby- (Good ones!) start NOW! Get at least 10 or so great photos of her momming. Holding her baby, playing with the baby, kissing the baby. Then make a slideshow and/or video montage. Text this to her in the morning. Cost is $0. If you want to go above and beyond, have the photos printed and framed.

3. One on one time. This is for the Mom with multiple children. I have four children and I very much value quality time with my older kids. Last Mother's day I took my 4 year old on a bike ride in the morning and in the afternoon I went for a hike with my 6 year old.  When a mom has multiple children she often has to prioritize the babies. I guarantee if you have older kids, she misses hanging out with them one on one. If this sounds like the Mother in your life, it is up to you to facilitate this time.

4. Date night. Does she typically do all the date planning? Taking the intiative to arrange the baby sitting and making the reservation goes a long way. Or since this is a $0 list, go on a bike ride and pack a picnic. Or drive to a park. Romance and quality time does not have to cost money.

5. Breakfast in bed. There is a right way and a wrong way to do this. The right way is to wake up an hour earlier than you think you need to. Get the breakfast going. Involve older kids. But whatever you do... do not let the babies wake her up. Be sure you are also there to care for the little ones when they wake up. And then clean up the kitchen. The wrong way to do this is to make a mess, ignore the kids and then Mom wakes up and has to do everything before she even has a chance to pee.

I hope this list helps! Feel free to send this to your husband/partner!
